Sadi Blalock, Ainsley McEntire, and Nicholas Stroud
Duncan Little Theatre was thrilled to honor three seniors with $500 scholarships at the Duncan Public Schools scholarship assembly. The 2024 winners include Sadi Blalock, Ainsley McEntire, and Nicholas Stroud.
Each of these amazing DHS seniors has shared their time and talents with DLT and our community through one to two dozen OR MORE productions! Each recipient has participated in a wide variety of plays and musicals in acting roles and technical crew positions. We are grateful to the many young theatre lovers who have grown up in our community theatre and our scholarship committee enjoyed reading about the lessons and skills they have learned through their involvement in our programs. We wish these graduates all the best in their future endeavors and hope they will continue to participate in community theatre throughout their lifetimes.
The Duncan Little Theatre scholarships are made possible from memorial donations made by DLT supporters.
2023 Scholarship Recipients:
Macy Ebenhack and Griffin Kidd
Duncan Little Theater is proud to announce the winners of our 2023 Senior Scholarship. Congratulations to Macy Ebenhack and Griffin Kidd for receiving $500 each! We are proud of your many contributions to our little theater over the years.
Macy has been involved in over 7 DLT productions both behind and in front of the spotlight. With a beautiful voice and tender stage presence, we look forward to her continued participation in DLT while she studies Nursing at Cameron University. Griffin prefers to be behind the scenes and has had a hand in dozens of uncredited productions and five productions in a formal position. “My life would not be complete without Duncan Little Theater. The people at DLT have watched me grow up and they have all helped shape the person I am today. I feel so grateful for all the life lessons I’ve learned from my time at DLT.” -Macy Ebenhack
Griffin is a kind soul and willing volunteer. We are thankful for his faithful service to DLT and look forward to his continued participation as he studied Mechanical Engineering at Cameron and Computer Drafting at Red River Technology Center. “I have always felt welcomed at all DLT activities but never felt like I could bring something to the production team. I always had small jobs but this time I had an important part of the magic that goes on behind the scenes. My role in Clue showed me that I can bring so much more to DLT.” -Griffin Kidd
We are proud of your accomplishments, Macy and Griffin, and can’t wait to see you FLY!

They loved me for exactly who I am.” Parker said, “I have made so many amazing friendships along the way, friendships that will last me a lifetime.” Thank you for each and every show, paint stroke on the set, costume change, and heartfelt moment. 2021 Scholarship Recipient:
Lillie Hodgson
With great pride, Duncan Little Theatre announces our 2021 Scholarship recipient: Lillie Hodgson. Lillie has been continuously involved with Duncan Little Theatre since her first performance in “The Music Man” in 2012. She has performed in numerous plays and musicals, worked as assistant Director for several shows, worked on set design and construction, helped with painting, prop and costumes, lighting, and served as a sound technician for DLT’s Children’s Theatre Experience program for multiple seasons. Lillie plans to attend Cameron University this fall, and will pursue a Bachelors of Music degree in Piano Performance.
In her eloquent essay, Lillie said, “Being able to work so closely with people who share my passion and love for the arts has been amazing. Every single show I have performed in, every set I’ve worked on, every prop I’ve painted, I’ve been surrounded by lovely, hard working people who want nothing but the best for the people around them. Theater, especially community theater, is unselfish and pure. Because of the creative freedom that DLT has given me, I have learned to trust myself and have gained confidence in my artistic abilities. DLT has helped me immensely as an aspiring artist and musician, as well as a person.”
Thank you, Lillie, for being such a warm and hardworking volunteer for DLT. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope to see you on the DLT stage again very soon!
2020 Scholarship recipient:
Caden Spurgin.
Duncan Little Theatre is proud to announce the selection of our 2020 Scholarship recipient: Caden Spurgin. Caden has been continuously involved with Duncan Little Theatre since his first performance in “The Music Man” in 2012. Caden plans to attend Cameron University and pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre.
When asked about his experience with DLT, Spurgin noted, “I now know, thanks to DLT, that I am enough. My experience with this community and with every director and choreographer that I have worked with, has taught me to never give up. To fight for what you believe and continue fighting, even if all you see is a never ending sea of darkness, because there is light. And if you feel yourself drowning in that darkness, all alone, know that there are people who are ALWAYS watching out for you. Know that there are people who will pull you out and build you to the highest heights. That is what DLT has taught me.” Thank you, Caden, for being such a hardworking volunteer for DLT. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope to see you on the DLT stage again very soon!
